Likely a good decision. Big Don has a tremendous potential and he should make the best out of it. Manafort is the better guy for the general election.

When your campaign manager is fired 4.5 months away from the election and 3.5 months away from early voting, that is NOT the sign of a healthy campaign.

From @gabrielsherman from NYT Magazine

Lewandowski was escorted out by Trump security this morning. His firing was result of coup by Trump children, campaign source said.

Seems like the kids, notably Ivanka, stepped in and demanded that he'd be fired or they'd leave.

Well we all know Ivanka Trump's political prowess.

You're getting sloppy, Little Donny. Maybe he's not up to a general election campaign.

Another brilliant move by Trump.

He managed to change the narrative at the moment it was toxic for him. He blames everything on Corey.

You do realize there's basically been a pivot going on since Manafort took over as basically delegate whip, correct? This is just an evolution in the campaign as they get pivot to the general election.

Yes, he changed it by introducing another toxic narrative that will reinforce the first. Truly a stroke of genius.

I realize this was Manafort's intent. In reality, there wasn't so much a pivot as Trump madly spining in circles for the better part of 2 months.

Trump didn't panic.  Lewandowski had made fatal errors earlier on, and it was clear that he didn't have the stuff to bring home the White House in the GE campaign.

This could be as big as the day William J. Casey pushed out John Sears and his team to lead the Reagan 1980 effort to victory.

Good to see how with Manafort at the helm Trump has turned the corner and is acting more "presidential."

Update: Corey's now joining CNN as a contributor. Move over, Jeff Lord.

NY Post’s Page Six says the CNN is facing an “internal revolt” over Lewandowski’s hiring:
