Because so much of the general population is armed? This is such a dumb argument. The police are ALWAYS going to be more armed than the average public. So the more you people arm yourselves, the more the police are going to arm themselves. Look at the police in various countries in Europe or Japan or elsewhere where guns are restricted. The police aren't nearly as armed. Why is that you think?
