So the winning message he came up with was "I disagree with Trump a lot and he's horrible so you'll need someone to reign him in if he's President".

Haha

They predicted Bill McCollum would destroy Bill Nelson in 2000. What happened? With the anti-Donald Trump wave coming, I think it'll be powerful enough to wipe out Rubio, who already pretty much destroyed his career with his joke of a presidential campaign.

Unless Rubio pulls way ahead and stays there (eg outside the MoE), the outcome of this race will probably come down to whether Hillary or Trump wins Florida, and by how much.

Not sure what to rate this as right now. I'll have to see what it looks like in September. Rubio could be formidable, though.

This is the correct answer. This race will be all about those coattails.

I wonder how much will come down to Rubio's ego. He was a pretend Senator from the start-he was running for President the moment he announced for Senate back in 2009. He abandoned the citizens of his state, and now he's treating them like a trampoline. Didn't bounce high enough last time, so I'm falling on you again.

How fitting for Little Marco. He could have announced whenever, but he cares so much about his job in the Senate that he skipped a hearing just to tell people that he realized running for president again would be easier if he continued to use his current job as nothing but a launchpad.

Rubio is taking a page out of Charlie Crist's book. Using shameless opportunism and running for the sake of running.

The people of Florida don't care about boring committee meetings.  They like flashy Marco because of his looks and persona.

Weird seeing the RPOF nominating a worse candidate than the FLDP. Odd.

Those pointing out the Florida Democratic Party weakness are, of course, right. Though I'd say that running Rubio is putting a winneable seat for the GOP at jeopardy.
No, Rubio is the best candidate for the GOP to hold the seat.

No. I am serious. Polls show Rubio either winning when no other Republican does, or they show him trailing narrowly when the others get crushed.

Glad to see that one of our top 5 Senators will probably be sticking around for at least two-thirds of another term!

I can see the commercials now:

A clip of Christie blasting Rubio for not showing up to work and ends with "tell Marco that he's fired".

PPP is the only pollster that is pushing the "Rubio is doomed" narrative - which is strange because they always showed him with healthy leads over Murphy and Grayson in earlier polls. I really wonder if they secretly wanted to convince Rubio to not run again by inflating Murphy's numbers. Keep in mind that they also showed Akin leading McCaskill after his rape comments in a poll with a ridiculous pro-Republican sampling bias at a time when Republicans where seriously considering replacing Akin with another more electable Republican. Wonder if PPP is cooking the books again....

There's no question PPP is cooking the books.  They do it all the time.

On another note, I am sad CLC won't be in the Senate.  He would have a bright future in national politics if he made it.  Young, handsome, mainstream, Cuban.  He's a good soldier for getting out of the race, I feel bad for him.

He can always go after Bill Nelson in 2018. We need someone to get rid of Florida's last statewide-elected Democrat.

Rubio: I don't even show up for work. Vote for me!

Nelson is probably scared to death.

From what I've heard, Rick Scott seems to be angling for that seat and is trying to scare off potential challengers. I hope this is false, the Republican Party of Florida needs to put up a real candidate, Scott should return to the private sector (where he belongs) after his term as Governor ends.

Little Marco hates his job so much that he rarely shows up to work, but now he's running for re-election.

CBS Miami exposes Privileged Patrick as a lying fraud. This combined with Rubio's reentry should finish off this loser once and for all.

http://miami.cbslocal.com/2016/06/22/the-making-of-patrick-murphy/

I wonder how Atlas Dems will try to spin their way out of this and defend this imbecile again. Sad! Then again, he might lose to Grayson in the primary at this point.

Either way, Rubio is a lock.

He wants to be president so bad that he's willing to live another 4 years of hell in the Senate or risk losing re-election and having a political career ended. What scummy desperation.
