I bet those Tories sent two letters today. One public one that's said "there, there you are a great guy we love you", and one private one that's says, "now that we have been nice in public it's time for you to move along loser."

Why exactly did he resign? I don't pay much attention to British politics.

Nothing big, Britain is leaving EU and will probably brake apart.

He put his political career on the line with the referendum. He promised a referendum in order to stave off UKIP's advances and placate eurosceptic members of his party. It was always going to be a gamble, and if Remain won, he wouldn't have had to worry about the EU issue again. The eurosceptics won, and he doesn't really have a choice other than to resign.

Cameron will be remembered as that PM who had sex with a dead pig and then went to to preside over the Union's breakup.

James Buchanan and David Cameron almost rhyme. Close enough to use in a Limerick.

But who'll be the British Lincoln?

No one, probably.

While setting stage for the UK break-up as well. There is a very good chance he is the last person to finish his political carreer as PM of UK as we know it.  His successor, if he stays long enough, will, eventually be heading a government of a substantially reduced territory.

I, actually, find it disgusting that he is staying till October. He should have been having the audience with the Queen by noon today.

Well, there will always be the Welsh and, perhaps, the Belfast suburbs.
