Many in France want to leave the EU, in a new poll.

Let's say that happens...

What happens next?
-To France?
-To the EU?
-To Europe?
-To the world?

Actually that's 40%, unless you have another poll I haven't seen yet:

I heard it on TV first.

Here's what I found, my numbers were slightly off, so I edited the thread title.

Over 50% want a referendum, and less than 50% want to stay with many undecided. Probably today's/yesterday's results will only embolden them.

I don't have much hope about the French being smarter than the British and voting to stay, but I have some hope about the French right being smarter than Tories and never call a referendum.

I wouldn't hold my breath on Sarko though...

Good point. It wouldn't be the first time he ends up shooting himself in the foot for short-term gain.

That said, Brexit might end up being such a trauma that it scares the other countries sh*tless.

Obviously, Ipsos does not poll here - but the Austrian figure is 28% leave, 53% remain in the latest ATV poll from this week.

Polling when an issue isn't being discussed in the mainstream is going to be wildly different to when the issue actually becomes a possibility.

And Les Republicains arent split over EU membership in the way the Conservatives are.

Questions 1,3,4 are impossible to answer but it will clearly be the end of the EU. You'll get a rump EU with Germany and states willing to be under its sphere
