Republican voters will be even more upset at the establishment after another 4 years of Obama/Clinton. Trump losing while being dissed by these supposed republicans will add even more anger. I'm sure the left will have no problem at reminding voters (gop) that people like Haley and Kasich didn't stand by the voters.
I strongly believe that Trump is a harbinger. Just like Goldwater cleared the way for Nixon and Reagan.
