Article.

Salt to be tasted here, as it was for Rep. Paulsen's challenger, Teri Bonoff. The poll was from the end of June, but was just released.

Clinton - 49%
Trump - 26%

Democrat - 42%
Republican - 32%

I'm also wondering about the lack of a head to head...

Generic Ballot is useless on a district by district level. Paulsen is not a "generic republican". Also, a district that Obama carried by 1 point is not going to be Clinton +23.

JUNK POLL!

Generic D up 10 in a R+1 district? Trash it.

What a bizarre poll.  I'm not sure why Bonoff wouldn't include herself in her own poll.  She's had aspersions on this seat for years; certainly others outside my old state senate district would have heard of her by now.

I could believe the presidential race, though.  MN-03 has one of the highest rates of residents with at least a bachelor's degree in the country.  Minnesota is not a good fit for Trump culturally, and should be especially bad (relative to a historical average) in the most educated corners of the state.

Dang, Minnesota could go 7-1 Democrat after this year. Just goes to show how important it is to have fair maps. Thank you Mark Dayton.

Game over for Paulsen or whatever his name is. Trump is going to be a real drag in blue states and a lot of people fail to understand that. At this rate there aren't going to be any Republicans left representing districts that Obama won.

Frank LoBiondo of New Jersey, Dave Reichert of Washington, and Illena Ros-Lethinen of Florida are all in Obama districts and are utterly safe. They're not even being seriously challenged.

Yes, since Minnesota will vote 7-1 Democratic in the congressional races, it will be totally fair. It has nothing to do with the fact that two districts are D+11 and D+27.

States having proportional representation in the House would make more sense, IMO.

With Trump on the ballot at the top, there is no telling what could happen. There have been non-entities have been elected in waves. We will see what happens in November and check this post again.
