Millennial. I'm sorry we suck (to our older posters). At least we're not Gen Z.

Millennials do not suck. We are the best generation. The next one looks like absolute garbage do far though.

Millennials are the best generation alive with more than like, three people, but, like every generation, we are standing on the shoulders of the previous ones.

Generation Z (1997).  I don't see why people are hating on us.

Generation Z (1997).  I don't see why people are hating on us.

Especially since there's basically zero data to use to determine any patterns about you guys.

Although really most people would say you're a late millennial.

Millennials are worse than Gen Z could ever be for giving us the post-Obama Democratic Party.

The way you style yourself as this Jacksonian, Jim Webb and Zell Miller supporting southern populist, you should like the way the millennial Democratic party is drifting away from the DLC types.

It seems like based on your posts you're in actually a more religious version of Larry Kudlow - and not like the aforementioned figures in actual political views - with all of the anti-populist, anti-small D democracy, pro-finance garbage you spew in the other threads.

ETA: I GUESS you could be offended by the increasing secularization and pacifism and cosmopolitan, post-racial attitudes of millennials relative to other demographic cohorts to be fair.

Yes, that's part of it. I'm also uncomfortable with how the Democratic Party has increasingly become a grievance party, embracing groups like OWS and BLM.

You're right, I'm probably no more than a rhetorical populist. If it weren't for my strong support of unions and progressive taxation, my PM Econ score would probably be +3 or so. I believe that the free market should generally be left alone and that individual rights are inextricably tied to individual responsibility. Government should only be involved to provide stability and necessary regulation, and fulfill collective moral obligations such as a social safety net. I'm certainly not a supply-sider like Kudlow, though. Reaganomics is a dangerous, anti-intellectual, feel-good economic policy that never trickles down. When I see supply-sider hacks go on Squawk Box and say that a flat tax and deregulation will lead to double-digit economic growth, I don't know whether to laugh or self-harm.

I'd like to apologize to Gen Z in advance for what my generation will be saying about you guys in 15 years or so. Everyone will soon be saying that Gen Z is irresponsible, lazy, overly dependent on technology, entitled, and that you all have HORRIBLE taste in music. You see, those over 35 believe that it makes them cool, hip, and enlightened to talk about how awful the current generation of young adults is, and how they weep for the future.

For the record the ages with the best musical taste are the younger end of Generation X and the older Millennials. Basically think of the age range that loves Nirvana.

Good for you!  Thanks for the elaboration.  I probably like unions less than you, progressive taxation about the same, and like regulation a lot more.  Some regulation fails economics 101 but some is just very beneficial and unavoidable.

There needs to be a button on this site that automatically posts the Fry from Futurama "not sure if serious" meme if BRTD posts here 17 times a day.
