Guess this is another way in which I'm "girly." Definitely cider.

Hard Cider if you put a gun to my head given that between non-alcoholic beer and regular cider, I much prefer cider.

Otherwise I'm not messin' with alcohol.

Beer, through I have to admit that if I was 20 years younger I would likely have prefered hard cider.

None of the above.

I'll have an amaretto sour.

I find most ciders a little too sweet.

Beer for sure. I don't mind a hard cider every now and then though.

Beer has a far more interesting range of styles to choose from than hard cider. If I have a taste for fruit with alcohol, I'd go with wine or a mixed drink.

Usually cider... but now and then an IPA is nice.  Especially with BBQ.  The clean bitterness of the IPA slices through the heavy smokiness of the BBQ.

Split the difference and get a Lambic fruit ale, like a framboise or kriek.

I used to prefer cider, but over the past year or so I've become rather partial to beer and stopped drinking much cider at all.

I like both. Just depends on the day, reason for drinking and who I'm with. I don't care if ciders are "girly" or whatever. If it gets the job done and I have a good buzz or drunk, it's good enough for me.

Depends on the beer, depends on the cider.

It's all very backwards in the US, Al.  The manliest of men drink the weakest, pissiest tasting light beer...anything else is girly or faggy.

Beer. I've only had cider a few times, but they resulted in a very bloated feeling and some of the nastiest sh#ts of my life. I prefer to stick with a sure thing, and cider seems like it would only work well with a few types of dinner. Furthermore, if I'm in a bind, it seems like it would be far easier to find cheap beer than cheap cider. I'll probably try to pick it up a few times in the fall for the sake of being "seasonal" and it being my first fall off probation since freshman year.

Between these two? Hard cider, though I prefer liquor or wine.

well cider is a broad church. There's scrumpy for the rural people and people who wish they were farmers. There are teen ciders which are flavorless, fizzy, white and inhumanely cheap . Out of those niches, men tend to drink stuff like Strongbow as an alternative for lager and women tend to go for Perries like Lambrini, drinking it in place of wine at parties (if you consider Perry a cider).
