Secretary Hillary Clinton wins the Democratic nomination and chooses Senator Elizabeth Warren as her VP. The Democratic National Convention runs smoother than many thought, and Sec. Clinton adopts her rival Senator Bernie Sanders' progressive agenda demands, to try and unify the Democratic base for the general election.

The Republican National Convention, however, is much more contested. Many party members are angry about Donald Trump's string of recent gaffes (his anti-Semitic tweet, the Judge Gonzalo Curiel comments, his failure to adopt a better general election persona), and so they decide to abandon him at the convention. The delegates parachute in Governor Mitt Romney, the party's 2012 presidential candidate. Gov. Romney chooses 2016 presidential candidate Governor John Kasich as his running mate.

Trump, however, is furious, and so are his supporters. He decides to give the GOP the middle finger and begins an independent campaign with Senator Jeff Sessions as his running mate.

Sec. Hillary Clinton (D-NY)/Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA): 456 EVs
Businessman Donald Trump (I-NY)/Sen. Jeff Sessions (I-AL): 53 EVs
Gov. Mitt Romney (R-MA)/Gov. John Kasich (R-OH): 29 EVs

Vote-splitting hands the election to Clinton in a landslide.

Ha ha no.

Hillary's crushing Trump when the GOP vote is united.

I'd say comfortable Clinton victory, but Romney keeps the red states, and Trump despite doing well in PV gets no states just like Perot.
