It wouldn't surprise me one bit if Trump decided not to be President once elected, or decided to quit the "game" after it got too intense or boring.

In my eyes he's just been playing a game anyway. He loves the thrill of the chase...the hunt...the challenge. But once the prize is caught, he'd be bored in a nano second. It's who he is.

He's not a serious candidate.

His early poll numbers are just a result of media buzz.

Primary polls don't mean much two months before Iowa.

Trump won't make it past the the Southern firewall.

We've reached Peak Trump and the establishment will coalesce.

He can't get a majority of delegates and he'll lose a contested convention.

He's unelectable even against Hillary Clinton.

We only need four faithless Electors to throw the election to the House.

Trump won't actually serve.  He's going to resign.

Trump's not actually going to start building a wall and deporting immigrants.

All that talk about nukes and Iran is just bluster.

Wear a respirator and jumpsuit outside and keep drinking water tightly sealed, and the fallout dust really isn't that dangerous.

Then what's the point of his entire "campaign? Is it a bet like the one at "Trading Places"?

P.S. This is the guy for whom senate Republicans are keeping a SCOTUS seat vacant so he can fill it.

Imagine how much money Trump could make if he placed all his money on Clinton winning on PredictIt and then end his campaign. I'm sure Trump hasn't that ruled out.

If you think Trump will resign during his Presidency, then you don't understand Trump very well.

If he is elected, he will have a mandate to lead the country.

People need to sharpen their pencils around here.

He's spent $50 million + funding his campaign and now he's going to say, "fuggetaboutit?" Ya. OK.

That must be the newest DNC talking point. The New York Times and their lemming readers are gullible.

Trump wouldn't confirm or deny whether he would actually serve as president. If you think he actually does "tell it like it is" that should concern you. He actually says/does this stuff, no one's making it up.

It doesn't concern me one bit. Whatever junk the New York Times is trying to manufacture here is beyond idiotic. Trump doesn't waste this amount of time or money running for POTUS if he does not assume the office. It's asinine to suggest otherwise.

#NeverTrump low-energy losers just can't stop spread nonsense through the mass media. What's next? Military will prevent TRUMP from taking office? Ridiculous!

Trump trying to get the military to stop him from leaving office if elected is a more realistic scenario.

And really calling your opponents "low energy" and "losers"? Ad hominem attacks from Republicans used to actually mean something. I'd be concerned if someone called me a "traitor" or a "Communist" but calling someone a loser means literally nothing. Maybe Trump will mentally advance out of elementary school and into middle/high school during the campaign and then start calling people nerds, dorks, and geeks instead.

"For a little bit, then he will do something stupid and get himself impeached" should be a fourth option, btw.

I feel like this isn't a line of attack that Hillary and the Democrats should use. Pushing the narrative that Trump wouldn't even serve his full term would equate to giving voters an excuse to vote for him because "he wouldn't be able to do any real damage".

I don't call you or anyone on this forum a low-energy loser. I called these GOP establishment dudes and some (not all) media hacks low-energy losers (with a little sarcasm), who simply can't accept the fact that TRUMP defeated them badly. They frequently come up with such ridiculous conspiracies about Big Don. He's dumped at the convention, he turns down the election or whatever stuff. Instead of coming up with such nonsense all the time they should either endorse Hillary or Johnson, or just be quiet.

Not until he's paid himself back (plus interest) with public and GOP money, obviously. As he said,

He's worth at least 4.5 billion and has a great life. Why doing this for a few millions?

He's worth at least 4.5 billion as a great life. Why doing this for a few millions?

You state that as a fact, when you're actually just repeating what he says. (And he's a confirmed pathological liar and egomaniac.) While his real estate holdings might be worth a billion or two, he also owes the banks (you know, the same ones who paid Clinton) at least hundreds of millions.

He makes less than half a million a year.

For a man who like to pretend to be hyper-wealthy, but is really only well-off, pocketing a few million is absolutely worth it. Plus, it boosts his publicity (which he is obsessed with), which he can leverage to make even more money with his con-artist schtick.

(And he's not doing it only for the money - he's doing it to gratify his ego, too.)

He makes at least 250 million a year, according to Wikipedia. Forbes says he's worth 4.5 billion, which is a reliable source. The ten billion he claims are way off, I confess. But the Forbes number looks about right.

Forbes admits they cooked their numbers in his favor at his request, though not as much as he wanted. Bloomberg came up with half what they did.

From business reporter Timothy O'Brien, who did a biography of Trump in 2005,

Quote

He was sued by Trump for that claim. Trump lost.

His total holdings may have a total value of a few billion (approaching the Bloomberg estimate), but they're also encumbered with a lot of debt  - exactly how much, we don't know only that its in the hundreds of millions if not more.  (Which should disqualify Trump all on its own.)

As for his income...
Quote
You must be logged in to read this quote.
http://www.wgrz.com/money/trump-to-pay-back-star-exemption/250492556

The state removed the exemption at his request and (rightly) declined to make any statement on his income.

So, we're left deciding which is more likely:

That for years Trump accidentally claimed an exemption to which he was not entitled, for years, and the state never called him on it, even after it became a comparatively high-profile issue.

Or, that Trump makes less than $500,000 per year, is entitled to the exemption,  and voluntarily withdrew it because it revealed he's been lying about his income?

Trump could simply release his tax returns and settle the matter.

I wonder why he hasn't?
