I'm ok with this bill in it's original form and with Santander's amendment.

I call for a vote on my original amendment, ( the one which changes the bill to Assembly, for a choice and all)

Before anyone jumps down my throat, yes we will vote on the amendment, but I'd like to hear dfwlibertylover's response to Leinad's point because I think it's a valid question.  Especially the last part.  Would you be open to that change, or are you set on assemblymen and assemblywomen?
I'm fine with Assemblyperson I guess but it doesn't really roll off the tongue the same way.

I'd prefer to keep it in my original form, then if my amendment fails we can vote on other choices or the original bill

If the bill passes in its current form then I will veto it.

I agree with President Leinad's argument here, basically. I have nothing against Assembly, other than that every other region is doing it. We have always been different, in this regard and others, and I would prefer that we continue being different.
What is your personal preference on what the legislature is called? I would honestly be perfectly fine if we kept it as the southern legislature.
