Like Trump, Flynn is a harsh critic of President Obama and the American political establishment — Flynn’s 2014 retirement came after numerous reports of him butting heads with his colleagues.

Like Trump, Flynn sees jihadism as America’s greatest threat, with his rhetoric often veering way past alarmism into irresponsibility. He said in one 2015 Fox News appearance that "I have been at war with Islam or a component of Islam for the last decade."

And like Trump, Flynn has an odd affection for Russia and its authoritarian government. Flynn has spent much of his time since retirement cozying up the Putin regime and he’s a frequent guest on its English-language propaganda channel, RT (formerly known as Russia Today).

He isn't really a lifelong Democrat, unless you're implying he's a "RINO" or a plant. He's switched back and forth multiple times, supporting GOP candidates in the '80s and '90s, supporting Democrats in the '00s, and returning to the GOP after 2012.

He's an independent overall.

Along with a stint as a member of the Reform Party about 2000.

Flynn would sure be an interesting choice.

This reeks of Wallace/Perot as others have said. Grasping for something resembling foreign policy credentials.

Because this guy seems to be a really smart one. I didn't know him until yesterday. So I watched a few interviews he gave (this and that), and he made a good impression on me. I'd like to know more about his stances on other topics (economy etc.). Flynn would definitely be an intersting choice for Big Don. So, why not? Flynn for Vice President! TRUMP-Democrats are the best.
