And Sanders didn't campaign on the public option because he wanted single-payer instead.

This is a strikingly uninformed and inaccurate description of Bernie's goal, which is single payer. How anyone who was paying even the slightest attention to the discussion of health care policy during the campaign could have written such a statement is beyond my comprehension.

That being said, I'm glad Hillary has affirmed her support for a public option. She always seemed open to it, but knowing that she views it as a step we should take, rather than merely a step we shouldn't rule out taking, is an important distinction.

Yeah, this story is just wrong. Public option =/= single payer.

Someone in January/Feb/March made a thread about how Hillary now supported the Public Option. And even back then, I said it was old news.

Most of the first world uses some form of public option...Including Canada and Mexico. Why shouldn't we?

And for you that believe it cost so much,,,well, we spend twice as much on our healthcare system then Britain or canada currently spends on theirs.
