I just realized there are some things that regular Atlas posters of any political inclination never tolerate and will jump on any noob for doing. Two good examples are:

-Unironically talking about "Reagan Democrats".
-Citing Political Compass charts.

Oh and obviously insisting on blue for Democrats/red for Republicans.

So what are some others?

As far as I understand it, sins are capital, while virtues are cardinal. Tongue

Anyway, there's also making a poll about yourself.

Dagnabbit, that's what I was gonna put down.

One possibility could be starting an "opinion of" thread without the conventional, forum-approved options.

Probably anything that would get you banned would be a capital sin.

As well as putting 'HP' above 'FF' in the poll options.

Approval of Andrew Cuomo

As an extension to political compass: neither the "Eisenhower was a socialist" nor the "Obama would be UKIP in Britain, and David Cameron would be a Trotskyite" arguments fly here, thankfully.p

Oh yeah, and a lot of typical "populist" political bashing (why don't we get congressmen's salaries!!!?) gets mocked pretty forcefully.

Cite where I've mentioned Reagan Democrats except to debunk that they still exist or posted a Political Compass chart for any reason but to laugh at it.

On a semi-related note unscientific election analysis that gets pushed by some types who don't understand politics well (such as "Why is California being called now when there are still 2 million votes left to count?" that some Sanders die hard were pushing right after the California primary.")

Or "I think *candidate* can win *state*, he just held a rally there that had HUGE turnout/I was just there and met tons of supporters for him!" type stuff.

StatesPoll-esque unskewing of polls is probably one of the top five, at least.

1. Calling random swing states safe D/R.
2. Overreacting to early polls/election returns.
3. Unskewing polls.

Nah, I know an angry man who does that in about 80% of posts.

Because random sampling error makes decimals utterly meaningless, and, if a polling firm doesn't realize that, chances are it has no clue what it's doing.

Obviously I'm talking about competitive states like PA, IA, CO, OH, FL, WI, etc.

Similarly to TNVolunteer's first point, calling safe states "POTENTIAL SLEEPER SWING STATES" or whatever. Happening this year with Utah.

Not necessarily, depending on how you define "about yourself".

On a related note, acting like subsamples of polls are particularly trustworthy no matter what the size. I remember once StatesPoll tried to extrapolate Trump's percentage of the black vote nationally based on a sample of about 80 from a poll from a single state.

Ugh no, compliance to awful gimmicks is not mandatory yet, thank Dave.
