No way this would happen unless Monique Singh-Bey (Black-nationalist socialist conspiracy theorist) were to somehow make it out of the Democratic primary. In that case the KDP would scramble to throw Orman in.

Orman would get destroyed by Moran. Orman would look like an opportunist and compared to Moran would look very out of touch. Moran, unlike Roberts, is well liked because he spends lots of time back in Kansas, is great with constituent outreach, and is pretty pragmatic but still conservative. I probably won't vote for him, but heck, I think he's a pretty decent senator and a very good person at heart.

Nathaniel McLaughlin is a pretty strong candidate in Kansas 3rd.  Hopefully the second quarter fundraising report that should be posted on opensecrets.org any day now will confirm this.

This is such a stupid move, this would just prove Pat Roberts right that he's a 'liberal Democrat' and right leaning independents would be less likely to vote for him. I agree the 2nd or 3rd districts work better than statewide, especially since Moran has no issues.

Jay Sidie has a good shot at beating Yoder. Just got added to the Emerging Races list.

No democrat is going to win in one of the worst states of the US. Ibmean, Brownback literally destroyed this state and they still reelected him*.

*By a margin of like two points in a republican wave year

Democrats would do best if they savor Orman and have him run next time.

Vega's got a point. There's a fair chance Roberts will retire in '20, and Orman probably has a fair shot in an open race.
