This made me cringe. She should really stick to policy talk, because this comes off super tacky. It's like the Steve Buscemi "how do you do, fellow kids?" bit from 30 Rock

That is possibly the most gender biased crowd I've ever seen at a campaign event.

That's actually a really clever reference.

Talking about how we need more training programs to get more computer coders.

And that it would be great to have a popular app to help get people to vote.

Hillary Clinton is like the patron saint of old people trying to be 'hip with the kids' nowadays.

Sadly, I don't think people would be willing to fall off of cliffs in order to vote in this country, like they are with this stupid game.

She's still going to beat Donald Trump worth young voters. And when hasn't a Clinton attempt to connect with those whippersnappers fell flat?

What I don't get about a lot of politicians is when they're pandering in ways like this...why can't they say it like a normal sentence, with normal tone, inflection, etc? It's like there is some sort of mental block that basically results in "hey i'll say this in as artificial of a way as possible so that it sounds awkward"?

This is about as cool as a 69 year old politician talking about pokemon should sound - anything else is just creepy.

I for one don't understand Pokemans revival and how it's popular with the 22-35 crowd? Isn't Pokeman geared for young teens and pre teens? Why are balding 33 year old tax attorneys catching two headed cartoon birds in front of the NY Public Library?

Whole lotta sexism in this thread. If Barack Obama or Bernie Sanders had said this exact same thing it would have been SO COOL. Roll Eyes

Three things:

1. Don't insult Doduo, the two headed bird. It's the greatest Pokemon ever made.

2. The first Pokemon games came out in 1998 (96 in Japan), so someone who was 10 when it came out would be 28.

3. You're saying this on an election forum with only a few thousand members. I think we share at least one odd hobby.

Not only that, but just maybe Hillary was ALSO talking to the grownups who know about this game so we could all get a chuckle at the youngster's obsession with it. It's not always about what the young people want or think is cool.

Because the people who played the original GameBoy games in the late '90s are now in their 20s and 30s. Nostalgia, dude.

That's partially because inflection is 75% of comedy, and one thing you can say about Barack Obama is that he has excellent comedic timing for a politician.

I LOLed.

Seriously if I was a rich person i would pay niantic all the money I had to start putting rare pokemon at polling places during the month of early november.
