While I voted for Erdogan because I actually like him (Atlas is one of the most anti-Erdogan internet forums I have seen), Gulen isn't exactly that terrible.  I don't seem to like some of the stuff he's done, but he's not the next incarnation of the devil, set on utterly and completely destabilizing Turkey. He seems at worst to be, on some level, a kinda-misguided cleric with some followers.
That being said my views are not very solid with Gulen, as I need to learn more about him to be sure.

I really don't like this kind of logic. If there are too people whose views strike me as equally bad, I'll root for the one who's not in power as a matter of principle.
