Hour by hour schedule:

I’m a little confused about the starting times.  I’m pretty sure there’s stuff going on in the afternoon each day, but then there’s a “primetime” program, which begins at like 7 or 7:30.  I guess we’ll see.

So who's giving the keynote? Is Donald going to have a special appearance by Steve Wynn or something?

Polling will of course be junk over the next 2-3 weeks because of the conventions and bumps, but we should probably use the Clinton+3 or Clinton+4 polls now as a benchmark.

My predictions:

Trump should get a 2-5% bounce (assuming someone polls next weekend) and Clinton roughly the same bounce.

So, virtually nothing will change in terms of her overall lead, but I expect Clinton to move closer to 45-46% and Trump to 40-42%. Johnson and Stein drop a bit.

- Of the seventy-one speakers, almost exactly two-thirds are men

- Thirty-three speakers are involved in politics (46%), fourteen are businessmen (20%), eight are military-related (11%), and six are in the entertainment industry (8%)

- Seven speakers have some family/business relation with Donald Trump, five of them being his wife and children

- Twenty-five speakers either ran in the GOP presidential primaries or will be up for elections in the next 2 years (The latter making up twenty speakers, 28%)

I wonder how many speakers aren't going to mention Trump's name at all.  That'll be interesting to watch.

That’s the reason for his slogan.

http://www.newsday.com/news/nation/gop-convention-schedule-republican-speakers-and-dates-in-cleveland-1.12035243

Additional prime-time speakers include former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, Alabama Sen. Jeff Sessions, Willie Robertson of "Duck Dynasty," actors Scott Baio and Antonio Sabato Jr., former Texas Gov. Rick Perry, Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke and Arkansas Sen. Tom Cotton, who said he'll talk about the military and veterans.

That's a whole lotta stupid in one night.

What leads someone to write a comment like this?  You've contributed nothing to the discussion, all you did is fling insults at people who will never hear them.  Ugh.

Anyone know what time the speeches are going to start?  I expect live commentary and analysis, Atlas.

Too bad he didn't get his buddy Viktor Yanukovych to headline and talk about how he made Ukraine great again.

A multi-level marketer who peddles pseudoscience—and whose product is endorsed by America’s leading conspiracy theorist (Alex Jones)—is scheduled to speak in a primetime slot Wednesday at the Republican National Convention.

I understand Manafort's frustration but, with this talk, he is going to make the situation only worse.  He needs Kasich and the Ohio GOP to make Trump even remotely competitive in November.  If the Trump campaign really wants to move the needle, they should offer policy concessions to Kasich and the Ohio GOP and try to get them to help.  But this is Trump and the politics of entertainment, so it won't happen.

If the US politics wasn't so polarized, Clinton could do worse than use the GOP rift, and offer the VP slot to Kasich.
