I disagree with Cruz on pretty much everything, but I respect him a lot more for that act of political courage.

This. At least Cruz has a pair, unlike Little Marco.

Did he...did he just not endorse him?!

I'm at work, what's going on??

It was made 10x more pointed when the New York delegation started shouting "endorse Trump!" And then the whole convention went nuts (mixed cheers and boos) when everyone realized he wasn't going to do it.

Not even that, he said "vote your conscience" which is going to turn into a brutal Hillary attack ad

I despise Cruz with a passion, but that was the best and most coherent speech of the convention so far. Smartest man in the GOP by a mile. Also, dude has balls.

Honestly, this was probably smart on Cruz's part. In 2020, he can say that he knew Trump would fail, and thus didn't endorse him.

Had they eaten it up, it would have just been a powerful convention speach, and it would be up to pundits to point out that he did not endorse. This way it is a scandal.

Isn't the "most votes ever" record simply due to population growth?

Ted Cruz:  "In November, vote your conscience".  Hahahaha.  YES

Ensuring the GOP leaves their convention divided

Cruz is soo the current frontrunner for 2020.

Which means he will do EVERYTHING in his power behind the scenes to destroy Trump on the down low so he gets his shot at HRC

This is great. If the GOP does actually put up Cruz against Clinton in 2020, her re-election is in the bag too!

Let us not go that far at this point. This election is what matters now.

I don't agree with Ted Cruz on much... or anything, really.

But I admire his conviction. I would not have had the courage to stand there, take that kind of abuse, look down the barrel of a gun, and never waiver in my values.

That took real courage and courage is something you rarely see in politics.

Cruz may not be a popular man, but he is more of a man than Trump will ever be.

Let's not...

More importantly, Cruz is setting himself up for when the GOP wakes up to itself (if that happens).

Well, there is still some Cruz crowd in the convention. They could make Trumpīs acceptance speach interesting.

Expect to hear the "vote your conscience" line repeated a lot at the DNC next week and maybe even in an Clinton ad down the line.

Cruz will destroy Hillary. Daddy Cruz will be proven right. The GOP just had their #OhCrapWeNominatedTheWrongMan moment

This also shows how incompetent Trump is when compared to Hillary. The Democrats pretty much lined up and told Sanders to walk off a cliff if he did not endorse before the convention. Trump allowed Cruz to nuke him at his own convention without even getting a promise of an endorsement before Cruz committed to the speech

That's funny, but it would've been even more accurate if the bridge were already on fire.
