Tom Barrack might be the only good speaker that this convention has had.

Yeah, he gave a good speech. Probably helped that he actually told humanizing anecdotes about Trump and didn't resort to attacking Hillary, the Democrats, or the "establishment".

It's funny that the best speaker so far's last name is basically "Barack"

Just saying...

Agreed.  He had a motivational speaker-esque quality about him.

Apparently the North Carolina delegation is pissed about Thiel calling bathrooms a "distraction".

That speech fell flat. I guess he was the only speaker that didn't have to submit prepared results.

Also this song is painful.

If Trump's speech is delivered as amazingly as it reads, we're getting a bounce and it's gonna be hard for Hillary to keep up.

Trump's speech to start soon, and it will probably change from the script (as Trump usually does anyways).

How many "facts" will he make up, or take completely out of context?

How much will Trump blame all the violence on people who aren't white, whether they're Mexican immigrants or Muslim refugees or African-American protesters? How much will he talk about ending America as a sanctuary for all kinds of people, and stopping "them" from coming here, ending trade deals with "them", like it will magically cure everything when combined with tax cuts (for the rich)?

And how much will Trump talk about himself and how he's God's greatest gift to America, and how much he hates Hillary (despite saying in 2008 she would be a great President)?

It's only a matter of "how much" and "how many," really. It will happen.

Is 'Silicon Valley tech billionaire' really going to play well across the fruited plain?

I don't see why not. Thiel is a brilliant guy. I don't agree with his politics, but I admire him for his success and for not shying away from his sexual orientation.

I mean, it's very 'new economy'. (And a terrible, terrible industry, but that's often the way...)

That doesn't read as amazing, but considering the train-wreck of the last three days, all he need to is not f*** it up to be considered to have done well.

Now it's primetime. It's when the low information people, the casual people tune in and see who Trump really is.

Unfortunately who Trump is presenting himself as is who those people find appealing.

Ivanka's really not coming off that bad at all. I wouldn't be surprised if she were, like, the one person Trump actually loves.

The video was weak. These attempts to sell Trump as a credible and decent person are weak. I have never seen such a phony, weak effort to sell any nominee at any convention.
