Yet RINO Tom has probably never heard of Subsist (Christian melodic hardcore band from Peoria around turn of the millennium)

Or the legendary Ten Grand from Iowa City either...

BRTD, literally no one from Peoria has heard of Subsist. Musically, Peoria is best known for Summer Camp Music Festitval, which, in my experiece, consists of a sh**tload of molly and a sh**tload of lucy. Regardless, RINO Tom can confirm.

Hmmm, I wonder how many cities in Illinois outside of Chicago I can name bands from:

Rockford - The Color Morale
Quad Cities - Meth and Goats
Peoria - Subsist
DeKalb - Weekend Nachos
Elgin - The Lazarus Plot
Champaign - Braid were originally from Champaign, though they moved to Chicago shortly after forming and taking off. It's kind of interesting how the scene in Chicago didn't develop organically, but rather because of bands from downstate, Wisconsin and Indiana playing there.
Carbondale - The Copyrights
Also The Didjits were from some small town in way southern Illinois.

Hmmm no Bloomington or Springfield. I wonder there is a scene in those cities.
