I feel pretty certain that the Trump campaign did this on purpose, knowing the media would pick up on it and make a big deal. That way, they get to play the victim card and whine more about the liberal media trying to take out a woman for standing against Hillary.

And even if it does hurt Trump a little bit, better have the media focusing on this than the content of the rest of the speeches from yesterday, which would hurt Trump a lot more.

Bravo, Trump. He's very good at manipulating the media, and they never see through it.

The conspiracy theory being sent to me is that they did this on purpose so there would be lots of media coverage showing Melania and Michelle next to each other in order to subliminally put the idea in our heads about her being First Lady. Thoughts?

Could be. I have little doubt that this was intentional,  but I think it was to overshadow the multitude of awful things said at the convention with something relatively benign.
