I could see these as possible Republican Candidates:

Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam
Speaker of the Tennessee House of Representatives Beth Hartwell
Tennessee Secretary of State Tre Hargett
Commissioner of the Department of Economic and Community Development Bill Hagerty
US Representative Diane Black

Possible Democratic Candidates

Nashville Mayor Karl Dean
Memphis Mayor Jim Strickland
US Representative Jim Cooper
US Representative Steve Cohen
Chattanooga Mayor Andy Berke

I think either Bill Haslam or Diane Black would win the seat because the District is heavily Republican.

I wouldn't be surprised if Corker and Haslam decided to switch jobs.

Rumor is Corker has always wanted to be governor, so that is very possible.  And anything statewide in Tennessee should be ironclad Safe R barring a Watergate level scandal and Tim McGraw (D).

I would literally do a backflip if the ol' Indian Outlaw actually got in a race for real

Bill Haslam and Bill Frist are the big name Republicans. Besides them, if they don't run for Governor, Tim Burchett and Ryan Haynes seem like good potential nominees.

I'd wouldn't mind seeing Bill Frist run for that seat. I think he would have a very good chance to win.

I think Bob Corker would be a good Governor and could do two terms before retiring for real.

Other big names could be the Williamson County pair of Jack Johnson or Marsha Blackburn.  If Grant Starrett wins in TN-4, he would have a shot as well (if he is 30 by January 3, 2019).

How old is Grant Starrett? If he graduated Vandy in '12 he's probably my age but good god does he look like he's 15

Marsha Blackburn doesn't strike me as very bright whenever I see her in interviews.  She's got a serious Palin vibe.  I like Diane Black, she would be great.

He is 27 or 28.  He graduated from graduate school at Vandy.  He would be the youngest congressman, I believe.
