The only reason anybody (on the Right) in recent years knows his name is because Newt Gingrich and a few select others started repeating his name while adding words like "tactics" (!!!) after it in order to turn him into attack phrases. Maybe we should start using the phrase "Lee Atwater tactics" or "Newt Gingrich tactics" (<-- far more applicable in the modern era and a key element of why government no longer works).
