No landslide, but he'll win by around two points.

He could, yes.  He could also lose in a landslide.  I think that the EV map is going to see some shifting this year, mainly due to the controversial nature of both major candidates.
Agree.
I have given up making predictions on Trump.  I will say it is hard to envision him losing, since all he's done so far is win.  What would a Trump concession speech even look like?

Lots of talk about how proud he is of everyone, and even more about how the media conspired to take him down and put Hillary in charge.  It will all be the fault of the media elite.

Sure he can, under the following circumstances:

1. Hillary chooses Bill for VP
2. FBI declares an investigation into the Clinton Foundation as the main vehicle for funding ISIS
3. Both Hillary and Bill withdraw in disgrace.
4. Democrats choose Sanders as the last chance candidate, agreeing with him to a name change to "Democratic Socialist Party"
5. Trump wins in a landslide

...and then we all wake up.. Smiley

It's not impossible for Trump to win, but there's absolutely no way he'll get a landslide.

Donald Trump will obviously not win in a landslide. This is a terrible thread.

Yeah, no.  Nobody's winning a landslide.  I don't think it's possible anymore.  Obama's numbers in 08 are probably the ceiling now.

A candidate with the popularity and political skills of even Barack Obama could defeat Trump in a landslide.  But half of the people who are voting for Trump have an irrational fear of Hillary, like she's some sort of terrible monster.

In terms of PV, probably yes. Around 53% I'd say.

An EC landslide of 400+EVs would be possible with a very strong third candidate.

I'd say no, logic dictates that he obviously shouldn't be able to do such a thing. But then again, logic dictates that he shouldn't have been able to win the primary, and he shouldn't have been able to stay-- up until now-- only a few points behind in the polls, either.  I'm increasingly convinced that logic has flown out the window this election, and just because there's no reason for something to happen doesn't mean it won't happen anyway.

The Republican base has revealed itself to be far more bigoted, far less wedded to orthodox conservatism, and far more unconcerned about personal morals, ideological consistency, and even support for THE TROOPS (THE TROOPS!!), than virtually everyone imagined them to be. So no, while there's absolutely no reason whatsoever to believe that Trump will win, let alone in a landslide, this election has shown illogicality is no impediment for illogical things to happen.

I'm turning into Beet, aren't I?

As it stands now, he'd have to win Nevada, Arizona, Colorado, Iowa, Ohio, North Carolina, and Florida just to barely eek out a 274 electoral vote victory. This isn't 1980, more of 1964-lite.

Maybe he can win "decisively" in the Electoral College by winning many states by narrow margins (PA/MI/OH/WI/FL/etc.), but there's no way that this election will be a landslide for either candidate.

Probably not, but I don't think the possibility should be discounted.
