Duckworth is terrible obviously, but it's not as if Kirk is any better.

Yes, yes he really is.

Never understood your issue with him, and all I can guess is that people like Kirk are stopping the GOP from being strictly a sanctuary for culturally conservative populists (that's the closest I've been able to pinpoint your pretty non-existent political ideology).

"Kirk's pro-choice, so he's basically a Democrat" is TN's thinking.

Not that they're the end-all-be-all, but both of TN Vol's PM scores are left of center AND he insists on being thought of as an independent, so if he's in the business of declaring anyone in either party as being not "sufficiently" partisan, he's a moron.

Uh, I'm not? Nice conspiracy theory, though. Also, if we're only going by PM scores, YOUR PM score indicates that you're not really a Republican.

Ah, but you see, my friend: I AM A REPUBLICAN.  You're not.  I'm registered as a Republican.  I identify as a Republican.  I have a vested interest in the party's future and do my part to shape its platform.

So yeah, I will get a little testy if you - again, someone with nothing to do with our party - are trashing good Republicans like Mark Kirk for not being sufficiently conservative when he has provided a reliable vote for GOP leadership, tax breaks, pro-business policies, etc. and just happens to also believe a woman should have a right to choose.
