Can't say I'm happy that the three Nay votes come from the Senators who've contributed naything towards this debate

What do expect us to do? I am flat out opposed to raising the minimum wage, I said that early on. I'm not exactly sure what I could "contribute" from that point of view.

I'm very disappointed in this result. I hope that any further debate of a similar bill involves more activity. I don't know, but I highly doubt the supporters of this bill were trying to work up back room deals to get this passed via PM. The only Nay voter who I think could have been convinced would have probably been Stmarken, but neither he nor anybody else tried to get him involved in this as far as I can tell.

Good bills fail because nobody works with anybody else?

Usually when you oppose something, you spell out your case for why you oppose it; it happens all the time in real world politics. One of the key components of debate is trying to convince those not totally committed to one side that your view is the best. I can personally say that I wasn't 100% on this bill, and others may not have been as well, but there wasn't a very strong case made against it. The only person who tried was Potus, who isn't even a senator.

Frankly, I wasn't sure how to voice my opposition in a way that didn't make me sound like a crazy libertarian, which I assumed wouldn't convince anybody. Tongue
