Opinion of Donald Trump's convention speech?

Donald Trump's speech was above-average. It wasn't absolutely terrific, but it could've been worse.

Most of it was about creating fear for this issue or that issue, this person or that person.
I didn't like it all that much.

I begrudgingly admit it will work. I thought on the substance it was wrong in a way that is easily fact checkable and Trump's delivery was as clunky as most of his rallies, but he always comes across as genuine despite everything.

Trump can win.

It was long but he probably needed to do what he needed to do, and with more rehearsal and delivery like this, he'll be able to keep the campaign at least Obama-McCain competitive....not some sort of 55% Hillary 40% Trump, 5% Johnson blowout...

I don't like Trump, but at his best he has fire. This was just a long ramble of BS. No real theme or coherency. It'll give the brain dead zombies of the Trump cult plenty of warmed-over meat for their self-delusion, but anyone who was undecided will find as much to dislike as to like, no matter what their personal philosophies.

It wasn't bad in terms of delivery and the fact that he didn't go on some racist tirade, but... Seriously the amount of negativity Trump is peddling is awful. He's acting like America is currently occupied by Mongols or something. The substance of his speech was disgusting, yet not surprising from a man who has no shame and has no limits.

So yeah, good delivery and will surely cement his legacy of scumbag politics in America.

In terms of delivery, it was decent, and will probably bring in some of the swing voters who are scared sh*tless. In terms of content, absolutely HS, but this election isn't about policies or issues, unfortunately.

I absolutely despise Trump and will not vote for him UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, but this speech was very attractive to the average swing voter and if there is a bounce in the polls, it will because of this, Ivanka, and Jr.

Semi FF. I'm an Independent. I think Trump is crazy, but it was effective. Swing voters are worried about the military, jobs, etc. I'm always an Independent, but I speak my mind when the time comes.

The speech will definitely help Trump. It was focused, disciplined, covered a lot of ground and wooed varied constituencies. He didn't degenerate to the baser instincts and focused on visions of a better country.

Of course his premise is still wrong, the promises were made without a clear idea of how to achieve them and there were quite a few statements that contradicted each other.

However all that is for another day. Tonight he did well and will definitely get a bounce out of it!
