So the Russian government, which clearly prefers Trump due to his incompetence and willingness to dismantle NATO, hacks the DNC and releases tens of thousands of what are probably supposed to be the most damaging emails through its puppet WikiLeaks site, and the best we've got is a few grumpy comments about Sanders from May, when he was condemning the Democratic party as corrupt, the election as rigged, Hillary as unqualified, and just generally being an ass?  The worst we've got is them asking to review some articles for factual accuracy before they're published?  The worst we've got is some awkward or rude comments?

Where is the big conspiracy to rig the system?  Where are the planned poll closures in Sanders areas?  Where is the planning for rejecting the voter registration of likely Sanders voters?  Where is the discussion on throwing away votes?  What about all the other brazen ways the DNC was so allegedly helping Hillary and working against Sanders?

These emails completely exonerate the DNC and the Clinton campaign from those accusations that were obviously just as baseless as birtherism in the first place, but just like Obama releasing his birth certificate, it won't matter to the true believers in the Sanders camp.

So the DNC became frustrated with Bernie for denying requests and not responding to leadership when they called or emailed. Look at how the Bernie camp responded to the data breach and the lengths to which the DNC had to go to to get his campaign to respond.

By the end of the primary one email exchange brings up a line of attack that was never used.

I would say DWS and her top aides used restraint in this case and the emails demonstrate that the Hillary campaign wasn't in on some conspiracy to deny Sanders the nomination.

But muh rigged system.

If I were them, I'd release the most damaging emails AFTER convention. May be one month before the elections. But I don't think, they have better than this, anyway.

For a party whose biggest enemy is the Republicans, you'd expect the Democrats to have the common sense to have given DWS the boot long ago.

So, people on a forum that is dedicated to politics, are surprised and appalled that political operatives and party machines are shady? How is this news?

The emails showed arrogance of DNC establishment and their disrespect towards Sanders. Will they have any impct on Sanders, his backers, and the election campaign?

It might have some impact if the emails were leaked before the primaries. At this point, though, nothing will happen.

Little to no effect.

The usual suspects would've been pissed even without this leak.

Clinton and the media will probably try to ignore it, so not much impact.
Not sure it will sway any Sanders supporters who were on the fence about Clinton.

So, people on a forum that is dedicated to politics, are surprised and appalled that political operatives and party machines are shady? How is this news?

The point is that the USA presents itself to the world as a perfect model of a  democratic country. It wages wars killing thousands of people to impose the democratic values on other  countries. Actually these "democratic values"  are shady party machines, fraudulent schemes, etc, etc.

Yes, that is a recurring point among morons over here.

Politicians in every country exaggerate their own positive aspects, even when whatever they are saying is complete bullsh**t.
Also, the democracy in the US is better than most of the world including a lot of Europe, so spare me the outrage.

DWS should've stepped down after 2014. I get it, party politics were never going to be pure, but you don't expect the chair of the DNC to actively conspire against one of the candidates. Bernie endorsed her opponent in response to that.

Why is this surprising when we have House of Cards?

Not surprising but is vindicating against all the Hillbots who live in blind denial.

Blind denial of what exactly?

Vidicated what exactly? Planned poll closings? Voter fraud? Oh those accusations are still baseless.

Crazy how the MSM isn't reporting on this. If this was an RNC leak you'd have 24/7 news coverage everywhere on CNN and MSNBC.

Yeah, most of this stuff is extremely weaksauce. Surely none of you guys are naive enough to think party hacks are angels, particularly behind closed doors?

The only really bad thing I've seen is the guy discussing attack lines on Sanders' religion, he should be fired.

Haven't you linked to articles about it from the NYT/WaPo and a video from FOX in this very thread?

It's probably not getting wall to wall coverage because...most of it is boring as hell.
