Let's say Kamala Harris withdrew from the Senate race for some reason - what would that mean for the ballot in November?

Do they replace her with whoever got third place in the primary? Do they let Sanchez run unopposed? Do they have a special election to replace her or something? Or do they just keep Harris's name on the ballot even if she withdraws more than three months before the election?

According to the CA secretary of state website, September 1 is when the general election candidates are verified for the counties to print out ballots and voter guides.

Unfortunately, the actual proposition law passed doesn't address that scenario. I assume if Harris were to die before the polls close or she was forced to drop out for whatever reason in August, only Sanchez votes would count
