How is he moderate? He's laying out debt free college and multiple Sanders positions. He might be a good speaker but that's because he's speaking from a TelePrompTer.

I don't think he's moderate so much as a "generic Democrat", i.e. not as far left as Sanders/Warren.

He reminds me a little of Kasich, with his tone anyways. Does anyone else feel that way?

Yes he does

Surprisingly strong from Kaine. Clinton did a good job of selling Kaine and he did a good job telling his life story and points for the Jesuits getting a shout out. Interestingly, probably the weakest part was when he went after Trump. With Pence and Kaine, it seems that the traditional job of the VP being the attack dog may not happen, its the other way around.

You can be sure all his asides in Spanish will lead Spanish language media (polls show half of Hispanic voters get their news at least partially from Spanish-language media)

Elizabeth Warren is the Trump attack dog

Elizabeth Warren is the Trump attack dog

So is Obama, Biden, and Bill.

They don't need Kaine to be an attack dog, just bring some sincerity and hopefulness to the election that the other three lack is good enough.

That was so much better than I thought it would be. Very impressed and excited for the upcoming activities in Philadelphia.

Seeing him deliver was fantastic.

Now convinced he was indeed the best choice. He's high-energy, genuine, decent, honest, compelling, appeals to Hispanics, can help Hillary with popular perceptions that cast her as a shady character, locks in Virginia, and has appeal in the Midwest to white swing voters.

And people thought Kaine was boring? After that speech, I genuinely want to hear more of what he has to say. FF Jesuit educated public servant.

A contributor on CNN who supports Donald Trump faulted at Kaine for speaking in Spanish and hoping she didn't "have to brush up on her, "Dora the Explorer" for the DNC.

She then went on the say she was happy the RNC was in a language every Americna could understand: English.

You know, the race is close right now. But I think if the gaffes just keep coming for months after the conventions, it's going to be a blowout. Trump luckily had Clinton's emails and the RNC to stop the bleeding from his remarks about Curiel and general ineptitude. With the exception of the debates, he doesn't really get a safety switch now.

Kaine is going to play extreamly well in the Philadelphia suburbs. I imagine there are going to be some big swings there.

I love reading all these comments about Kaine. He's fantastic!

I especially enjoy his Spanish! He's very good at it. Is there any other VP who can deliver in another language?

Boring? Guess the answer is nope!

Not a VP candidate but Kerry speaks fluent French (and that was actually used against him)

I never heard him speak it. At any rate, I'm glad that Kaine is doing so well today, and I'm glad to see him incorporating Spanish so easily into his speech. He's being inclusive whereas Trump is divisive. We cannot afford more years of divisiveness like the present Obama/Congress mess.

Ideally, he'll get Trump to rant about how Kaine's "not an American".

I have been saying for months that Kaine is the right pick and he proved it today. Obviously he was focusing more on the "progressive" issues, in this speech, since those were the immediate concerns of the base. I bet that we will see him shift focus and become a major bridge to bring in disenchanted Republicans.

Whatever I think of Hillary, she did a great job on her VP selection. Experience does matter!  Choosing Warren or Sanders was probably the only way Trump could catch up, by claiming he was running against a "Socialist" ticket. But with a reasonably centrist ticket, Trump will lose big time in November.

Interesting how her VP introduction speech is actually about, you know, her VP.

Exactly, that is what I was just thinking! She is selling him to the American public.
I don't get how Trump is doing so well while making so many mistakes.
The thing is. I have many republican friends, including my parents. They are smart people. So, I don't get why they aren't phased by all of Trump's mistakes... like not selling Pence to the American people.
Hillary is methodically laying out the case for Kaine's qualifications. This is what a VP introduction should look like.

Yes and yes.
Unlike that narcissist, what's-his-name, who just cant take the stage light off him for one second, and speak about others.
trump needs to be about "me, me, me."

And Hillary, stayed on stage with her VP choice.
She did not introduce him, and then walk away.
