Voting is now closed, the bill is unanimously passed by the assembly. Now on to the governor.
Wasn't that vote just not on the ammendment itself and not on the entire bill.

One more amendment:

I realize the irony of saying this right after proposing an amendment, but we really should get to moving on to a final vote on these. Even without this amendment, I think the rules work as a good basic structure, and they can be amended later. We need some formal structure, especially as we start getting to things like the budget.

Totally agree Pikachu. I support that amendment, let's see what the other assembly members think. If one other person is fine with it, I'll put the amendment up for vote, and soon after, we can hopefully get the bill up for a final vote.

I have no problem with the filling vacancies portion, however, as an Independent, I do have one problem. If the member in question is inactive and is removed for that, then how can a replacement be made then?

Now Personally I feel that by-elections are not necessarily a bad thing. However, I know that can be tricky to do in Atlasia.

I'm in favor of a by-election to replace an independent instead of him or herself choosing the replacement.

I object to the amendment. It's plausible that there might not be enough willing members of a party to replace a resigning member, especially for potential third parties. Even Labors had some recruitment issues this cycle. I think appointment by the governor + a by-election is safer.
