Milton Friedman was born in New York, but he was professor of the University of Chicago from 1946 to 1977. So, most of the years of his life he spent in Chicago.

If he ran for mayor of Chicago, would he be elected?

Okay, maybe Mike Johnson is a competent parliamentarian.

I would rate Friedman's chances of winning rather low since, as historical trends suggest, Mayors of Chicago tend to be, you know, still alive.

Sure, maybe.  Now that he's dead, he votes Democrat.

I am talking about if he ran in the 1950s, 1960s or 1970s, or maybe 1980s
