The amendment to the tax rates has passed 4-1.
1184AZ has proposed tabling this bill, I will put whether or not to do that up for a vote. If the bill is tabled, my proposed rates (the amendment that passed) become "the assembly's" rates, the Governor proposed a budget with taxes, and then we can amend those if necessary.

We should not have to wait for a budget to be proposed. We are elected to legislate and to pass budgets. NAY

If passed, we still get to pass our own own proposed tax rates, and have the power to debate over the budget, make amendments, even pass our won (if we agree to it).

Aye. I believe in the necessity of a productive legislature, but we have no idea what the budget looks like at the moment, and when we do see what our expenditures are, how we collect our revenue will likely change according to that. I'm aware of the difficulties of producing a budget (when I was a Governor, I stalled reallllly heavily on mine), but I hope the Governor will be proposing one soon.

I will go ahead and vote AYE, after giving it thought. We need to see what our expenditures are, that will give us a better idea on how to collect revenue. Don't worry, this will not give up our power in this field.
