As others have noted, a lot of Sanders voters are not attracted to him so much as being anti-Hillary. His endorsement does little to change that.

Still, he is responsible for talking hem down. If anyone can, it'd be him.

Yikes, Sanders delegates boo when Sanders himself says "We have got to defeat Donald Trump and we have got to elect Hillary Clinton and Tim Kaine."

He needs to get real with them. Take off the kiddie gloves and tell them not to be children. He needs to get personal and emotional and explain why it is so important to him why Donald Trump can't be elected.

This is a clusterf-ck. I totally overestimated the sanity of his supporters, which I didn't think was possible. If Hillary loses the general, it's at least partly on Bernie. He helped create this mess.

If Hillary Clinton loses it will be Hillary Clinton's fault. She could have offered an olive branch long ago.

She's offered so many. The Bernie Bros simply will never accept them.

It's easier to be pure than to find common ground

There's no good place to post this, but PPP will have an Ohio poll out in an hour or so, which they rate as a "6 on the anticipated Democratic freak out meter." However, when someone asked if that meant Trump leading by 5-8 points, they responded: " Haha if it was that I'd rate the anticipated Democratic freak out meter a lot higher than a 6". So it seems like their poll will most likely show a very slight Trump lead.

Which, considering the fundamentals of the race, the convention bounce and the state in question, is a not unreasonable result

Before we all freakout over what goes down at the convention:

Pew (7-25): 90% of respondents that consistently supported Sanders are going to vote for Clinton, 88% of respondents who have switched at least once are supporting Clinton

That really places the Trump supporters as those who are Republicans who were locked into the Democratic Primary (KY, WV, NC, LA, OK, etc).

I'd also add that a lot of the protesters in DT Philly are not regular voters or regular Democrats. I admire that Bernie had engaged a lot of them and gotten many into the party, but the holdouts wouldn't have voted Hillary anyways whether he had not run or flamed out early

I think the Sanders people are getting tired.

I've heard on twitter that the Clinton/Sanders campaigns are now "whipping" the crowd to be more reasonable.

If that's the case then they should have been doing that from the start.

Better now than never

Nate Silver is saying that only about 2-5% of the entire arena is booing.

That would be about 5-12% of the Sanders delegates, given that 40% of the delegates are Sanders delegates.

Would line up with polls suggesting 90% of Sanders supporters will back Hillary

I hope i don't jinx it but today has really turned around. We owe the Sanders campaign, along with the great speakers, a great deal. Lets hope the rest of the night and the coming week continues to keep the pace.

If this goes on controlled, Sanders deserves high praise.

Completely agreed.

Who thought it was a good idea for Lena Dunham to speak... in primetime???

I'm kinda curious to hear her actually. Everybody seems to have very strong opinions on her and I'm still not sure why she'd be worth them.

She's not. She is neither worthy of the praises from the left nor the vitriol of the right. She is talented but not a savant, spoiled but seems nice enough.

Derisively referred to as "Play-Doh Face" by my BernieBro friends, one of whom is a delegate in that arena tonight.

Whoever says that about him is a disgrace.

I wanted to strangle the BernieBros that called him Uncle Tom.

God damn that's even worse!
