If Donald Trump wins the presidency, what can he accomplish with a slim reelected GOP Senate, and a retained GOP House; can he accomplish his immigration plans of a wall, and can he accomplish his goals? Can a Vice President Pence communicate these goals to his old colleagues?

Wreck the economy, then step down leaving Pence to implement a radical socially conservative agenda.

A ton. He'd probably have both houses for four to six years unless he messes up big time, and McConnell wouldn't be afraid to abolish the filibuster if needed, so the agenda could get pretty ambitious. Court packing; Obamacare repeal; Dodd Frank Repeal; Large-Scale Tax Reform; The border wall; the Muslim ban - everything would be on the table.

Add on the post above
-Abolishment of the energy department and all the r&d they fund.
-Abolishment of the epa.
-Wipe out all regulations on air, water and food standards.
-Say good bye to our national parks
-Say good bye to most of public funded science.
-Say good bye to bank protections for the consumer
-Say good bye to public transportion funding
-Say good bye to the safetynet.

I don't know how such a party can be elected but it is scary.

Basically, their whole platform.

You think Paul Ryan can pick and choose what he wants from Trump? Hah!

I should add he'd properly abolish elections and keep himself in power as long as he wanted to. There really is nothing to stop him from doing that if he has Congress and packs the courts.

That is true, but like infrastructure typically don't have the resources of the federal government. Also the Gop in the case of Kansas, etc isn't exactly going to fund these things at the state level.

Think about it.  An extremely unpopular President Trump, every minority in the country shaking their fists at the White House, Latinos in the streets protesting Trump's wacky wall and his overly aggressive immigration policies, health care being taken away from millions, a Republican Congress at war within its party and the administration, huge oversteps by Trump, endless scandals from the Trump Cabinet, a hostile media destroying the man they helped put into office, and a disastrous foreign policy that appeases Russia, encourages the breakdown of Europe, spreads bigotry and hatred across the world, and ignites a new war in the Middle East.

And THEN we go into a recession, even though most Americans still haven't recovered from the last one.

Hopefully, before he attempts this, there will be enough human beings with moral fortitude left in Washington to pull an Amendment XXV, Section 4.

Trump will come into office with low approvals, and the Republican House and Senate won't necessarily go along with him. The Muslim Ban will be dead on arrival due to Saudi pressure/threats, not to mention the fact that it's a blatantly unconstitutional violation of the free exercise clause.

The Court packing thing, even if attempted, sets a terrible precedent, because it basically assures that the Democrats will pack the court the next time they control the Senate and the presidency?

Don't forget gangs of Trumpsh**ts attacking minorities, additional wars against nations who fail to "respect" TrumpMiller's ego, Democrats splitting between those eager for collaborationbipartisanship (as long as it's part of the pro-corporate, neocon/neoliberal agenda) and the actual left, and whatever theocratic nonsense the Republicans in Congress and Trump to allow through.

I despise Pence with a passion that can only be engendered by living with him as governor for four years.  However, I would take him in a heartbeat over Trump.
