You know the drill.

B-. Got off to a very rocky start, but Booker, Michelle, and Bernie all killed it with their speeches, and the heckling was less pronounced later on.

C. The final hour was fantastic, but before that was horrible for obvious reasons.

Basically this. But I gave it a B, purely because the behaviour was OK in key watching hours.

C-. Cory Booker was such a patriot and of course I loved Bernie's speech.

C. The divisions between the centrist wing and the progressive wing of the Democratic Party showed clearly.

Michelle, Bernie, and like half of Cory Booker's speeches were the best, nearly everything else was pretty rocky. I simultaneously relish and dread the roll call vote tomorrow.

Sanders and Warren did fine for the most part. Rest were snoozers.
Chanting and such was rather enjoyable.

B, would've been an A without the heckling but what can you do.

Got off to a bad start, but the primetime speeches were all great, especially Booker's.

B-

The headliners were all terrific (Booker, Mrs. Obama, Warren, Sanders). The rest were kind of dull.

ugh the heckling was so annoying and constant.

Also, boy who let Bob Casey on that stage. Jesus. Dullest man on the planet.

The far left was a problem but the speakers delivered a hopeful message unlike the RNC.

The speakers were pretty good for the most part.  Loved the Paul Simon surprise performance.  Booker and Michelle killed it in prime time and Bernie made it very clear to his stupid supporters that they need to support Hillary.

Unfortunately, the repulsive, absolutely vile behavior of his delegates controlled the narrative all day, ruined speeches, and pissed everybody off.  They should all be locked in a cage until the convention is over, or better yet, never let them out.

The DNC and the Clinton campaign are doing a far better job so far than the RNC.  They just need to take care of the Bernie problem.  I give him credit for apparently scrambling behind the scenes to put a stop to it, but he really should have seen this coming months ago and at the very least not inflamed people by egging them on to do exactly this for weeks.

I give it a B+, mainly because 90% of primetime viewers did not really see all the cr.p going on in the background, at DNC, and because this performance handily beat the RNC first night. However we will see how things go from here.

At least a B-.

Once Michelle Obama spoke, it became clear that the night would turn out fine.

B cause of all the crap happening throughout the day, but then a great speech by Michelle in primetime to show what Democrats are about. About Bernie's speech... the jury's still out, but I think eventually the Bernie or Bust sentiments will fade over the next few days.

D.  Like I said on the other thread, I hope they got all of the socialism out of the way tonight and the rest of the week will be devoted to a forward thinking big tent message.

They need to do some work with the mics to cut out some of the background noise and move California from wherever they are.

A-, because the speakers were great and the crowd was rough at the beginning. There really was nothing that could be done about the crowd, because there are lots of Sanders people unhappy with the election results and the results are settled. The effort toward unity and the strong speakers made it a decent first day.

Would have been a solid A if not for the handful of self-obsessed children in the crowd throwing a tantrum. Fantastic final hour and a half of speeches though. Loved Bernie's, and that's high praise coming from me, as you may know.

I voted A to tip the scales, but it was probably more like a B-. I'm pleased, though, that most of CNN's spin has been about the messaging and not the heckling.

A-

It started off rocky but it picked up due to strong speeches from Ben Jealous,Cory Booker,Michelle Obama, Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders.

The tone was positive and hopeful unlike the RNC which was doom and gloom.
