I was just listening to NPR and a foreign affairs columnist from the Washington Post noted that Putin has insiders like Manafort who worked for Yanukovych before around Trump and that there are (what seemed like crazy before) rumors that the Trump Corporation is only being kept alive with Russian money.

Now, say some extensive investigation into the DNC leaks directly implicate Trump as soliciting Russian support or his campaign receiving some. What effect does this have on the election? Do disaffected Republicans just completely turn off? Do Trump backers continue backing him? Basically, would he remain competitive under such a scenario?

Above all, he's most loyal to himself. His ego is so big that, despite his other loyalties, he will always serve himself first (as seen in his business record). At this point, it's unclear if he's running as a plant or running to win. If he does win by enough, we can expect him to serve as president for about a year before he gets bored, resigns, and hands the presidency over to Clinton (if he's a Dem plant) or Ivanka (if he's not) (he's not giving it to Pence lol). That way he serves his ego first, and then Clinton.

Seriously though, I really want to know what the effect on the election would be. Like do we see Gary Johnson skyrocket in the polls? Does absolutely nothing change proving that we are dealing with an electorate that seems significantly uninterested in the current global order?
