What is your opinion of Reddit, a content aggregator?

Depending on which subreddit you're on, either very good or very bad.

Only good because there are so many people on it.  Regardless of the sub, the format is so abominable that every forum becomes a massive circlejerk with no unique or dissenting opinions.

As long as you steer clear of most of the "default" subreddits, it can be a pretty decent site.

It's always weird when people have super strong negative reactions to things that are very broad.  Hating Reddit is stupid in the same way hating wikipedia or the internet is.

I don't use it much, but it occasionally pops up in my Google searches and is often useful when it does.

freedom site

it's an amazing resource for niche interests because no matter how small any community is, I guarantee it will have an active subreddit

I went with FS because a fair amount of reddit is still pretty good, and I use it still to get links for my news diet, among other things.

That being said, their comments section is awful. /r/politics in particular is absolutely garbage in that respect. The upvote/downvote system there simply serves as a way for packs of partisan assholes to roam around silencing any opinions or posts they don't like.

Just recently started using it regularly. There's actually a lot of interesting and active discussion on obscure topics which is cool, but yeah (as said) the 'main' subrebbits are probably best avoided on the whole.

Its become worse and even more unusable (literally, with blanket shadowbans and karma requirements in every sub) in the years since this poll was created. Every subreddit that has more than 20 users is now just bots reposting ragebait.
