Which GOP candidate would have done the best in the upper middle class Chicago suburbs (the areas where Rep. Bob Dold: R-IL represents), where Republicans do well?

In the wealthier suburbs, probably Kasich or Rubio.  Similar to how Manhattan (LOL) voted for Kasich.  In the more working class areas, probably Trump.  In the suburbs overall I'd say slightly Trump.

Trump could do well in the Chicago suburbs if he takes a page from GHWB's book and hits it hard on law and order.  It won't be enough for him to win Illinois, of course, but he could maybe lose Illinois gracefully as opposed to an Obama 2008 or 2012 blowout.

It might also be enough to tip the scales in closer states where suburban votes matter.

Kasich of course.

If Atlas posters alone had the vote, this would be a real horserace now!

Kasich.  Most of them would have won DuPage against a non-Obama Democrat, but Trump will almost certainly lose it.
