Im very worried about the busters tomorrow. The fact that they chanted through Leon Panetta's speech means they're still a problem. Part of me thinks they're going to do the same to Hillary.

Her supporters in that room will come to her defense much more strongly than they ever have if that happens. Although I imagine it's definitely a thought that's scaring her and the campaign. I think it'll be under control.

The Obama video

His whole performance

His lines about how America doesn't like one man trying to rule us

His line putting communists, fascists, jihadists, and homegrown demagogues in the same line as equal threats

His Audacity of Hope

Obama, even if you can't stay President forever, please stay with us forever in some way, some how

That was a great speech, reminded me of Reagan a bit. Uplifting and brilliant.

Looks like Democrats are officially the patriotic party!

It seemed like that one protestor at the beginning of Obama's speech got removed rather quickly too.

Donald's response to tonight? Do you want to know what he's tweeting?

He's tweeting
1- that some guy said to stay the course, because the people
2- that of course he'd make our NATO allies pay
3- how awful real America really is.

https://twitter.com/realdonaldtrump

I think Obama (and Biden, and Kaine, and everyone else) really stumped Trump tonight.

Yep, and I'm pretty sure measures will be taken to try and prevent any kind of protest. They know the stakes are high.

I'm still skeptical. Not because of any "low energy" of the speakers so far, but because the focus of this DNC -- at least to me -- is supposed to be on Clinton herself, a reintroduction of Hillary Clinton to the US at large, and not just convention Bernie Bros, as a credible commander in chief. All of the words wasted about Trump after Michelle Obama's opening is a distraction from that.

It's not clear to me, given the nature of the speeches so far, what Clinton intends to do about ISIS or their refugees, or free trade, or the interminable shootings, or the obstructionism of the House GOP. Why should we vote for Clinton?

Yes, Clinton can address all of these things herself in her own speech. The danger is, though, that if she says yet another syllable about Trump, outside the fact that he comes attached with regressive GOP policy, then her speech, and the convention at large, is a failure.

Can't be just the two of them. Anything else of interest?

I would be really great if they could get some prominent "nevertrumper". Especially, if it were a serious surprize.

I kind of agree with you in the sense that I'm tired of hearing about Trump. He keeps his face plastered all over the media enough, all by himself, and I'm getting very impatient with it and tired of the garbage he spews.

I'm afraid that Hillary is going to mention him, although she certainly has no need to since everyone else has done a good enough job about it.

I hope she does come through as you ask and talk more about why we should elect her...not because Trump is these negative things, but because she is FOR specific goals, ideals and strategies.

But I disagree that the convention would be a failure by any means, even if Hillary isn't as crystal clear as you would like her to be on why we should vote for her. I think many people saw her in a new light. It's so easy to believe the cartoon character that has been painted about her by the GOP and the media and the rest of her detractors, but that's not the real person.

The real person has a history of working hard and getting things accomplished, and never letting up and never giving in. She is truly a remarkable person if people would take the time to see through the hype.

I'll switch back soon enough, but I just wanted to help reflect the fact that we've reached an age where there's only one party for people that have brains. It is a damn shame what the GOP has become.

What about our white Christian friends?

Spanish Inquisition, Holocaust, Crusades, Oklahoma City

1. The First Crusade was launched in self-defense. Muslims have a long history of killing, enslaving, and taking land from Christians - and they were doing those things long before 1095.

2. Throughout history, there were actually more Muslim invasions of Europe than Crusader invasions of the Middle East.

Learn the truth about the history of our relations with Muslims:

http://www1.cbn.com/churchandministry/1400-years-of-christian-islamic-struggle

3. The Nazis were very hostile towards Christianity.

4. The Oklahoma City bombing had nothing to do with religion. Timothy McVeigh wrote in his autobiography that science was his religion, and in June 2001, he identified as an agnostic.

An outstanding speech by a great president, not to mention an INCREDIBLE endorsement of the woman he wants to succeed him.  Mr. Obama, thank you for your leadership.

Aside from this being a fairly interesting interpretation, what about the Fourth Cruzade and sacking of Constantinople? Christians did there a much more thorough murder and rape job than Turks did 250 years later.

The inhumane barbarian murderous ideology of Christianity has a long and varied history Smiley If you want to go down that line of argument, there is no end to atrocities I can put on the followers of that itinerant preacher from Galilee Smiley And, with the possible exception of quakers, I doubt I would find many branches of Christianity that did not partake in the blood feast.

I mean, I am Jewish. Christians have spent millennia killing us. Do not think we forget.

Once again. If you are going to build straw men, I am going to set them no fire.
