In theory it should, but all he needs to do is rebound it at the debate when Hillary inevitably brings it up by mentioning her uranium deals with the same people.

He picked the wrong day to do this...Obama and Biden can bring the hammer down when tens of millions will be watching tonight. This cry for attention just pumps up the hype for their speeches.

I don't think it will have a huge impact but it is just another thing that scares away educated voters.

Not sure how much alone it will hurt, but I think it is becoming part of a bigger story about Trump and Russia. And if the notion that Trump is going to be soft on Russia seeps through, that will hurt him. Especially as Trump has made being tough with other countries (notably China and Mexico) such a big part of his brand.

Yes. There really are not too many people out there who want Russia committing espionage on US servers.

neh. 90-95% of anyone still supporting him at this point is a cultist whose mind (such as it is) will not be changed by anything.

So minorities and college educated whites, that is like 3/4 of country.

The comments won't hurt him or help him.

If it leads to more about Trump and Russia and makes it look like he's deeply beholden to them, it should. But if it doesn't under those circumstances, I think that would show a rather significant shift toward how Americans view themselves in the world, no?

Why do Republicans like right-wing dictators so much? David Perdue even lived in Singapore for awhile because he admired the dictatorship there.

They should, but they won't: the media will treat it as a joke and the Right will make excuses for him.

I would say yes.  The feed into a narrative that has been building for a while now.  Honestly, the timing of these comments couldn't be worse for him.

It will hurt him a little at the margins--and may have a slight impact in the swing states.  But it's not a game changer.

Especially with a bunch of heavy hitters, a lot with a defense background, coming up tonight.
