I don't see why Putin would support someone who supported democratic protests back in 2011-2012.

All of this boils down to Russia wanting to interfere in our democracy as they think US policy interfered in theirs.

Guys, this is all about Ukraine. Hillary and Obama were for the regime change in Kiev...Putin is just trying to extract a measure of revenge here

Putin is a Russian Nationalist. He doesn't give a sh**t about Trump, or either party. Putin will still be sitting their in his 70's and 80's long after the Trumps, Clintons, and Obama's have left the political stage

Oh, of course he hates the US and wants to damage it. He knows that Trump president would severely damage the US at little cost to him. So he is supporting all the American traitors in the fight against their country.

Trump says he wouldn't defend NATO allies, is open to recognizing the annexation of Crimea, would ruin whatever's left of America's standing in the Muslim World, and would divide and weaken America by sowing racial strife that would linger for decades. The only revision to the GOP platform that the Trump people asked for was removal of language about arming Ukraine. Trump is the most pro-Russian candidate Putin could ask for, and he would be stupid to not be backing him.
