From what I've heard, he really loves heading the Consumer Protection Bureau and I could easily see him choosing to spend the rest of his career as a consumer advocate of some sort. He probably has right of second refusal though. Connie Pillich (who might very well have beaten Mandel if she hadn't been dragged down by 1) 2014 being 2014 and 2) FitzGerald) is probably going to run. I've heard rumors Betty Sutton (who I've never been very impressed by as a candidate tbh) is looking at the race as well.
