Probably the closest Trump came to a newspaper endorsement.  The Bakersfield Californian says they won't endorse anyone (but urge readers to make up their own minds and vote):

http://www.bakersfield.com/opinion/our-view-presidential-decision-the-lesser-of-two-evils/article_8f99852e-28dd-53c0-a4d5-25a67df149bd.html

Hardly:

"Donald Trump, the Republican nominee, is erratic, reckless, coarse and utterly lacking in statesmanship. He has a less-than-solid grasp of policy issues and shows little interest in changing that. His candidacy has alarmed conservative U.S. leaders and America’s global allies alike."

They slam Clinton (not quite as bad, IMO), but this is hardly a "lean Trump" semi-endorsement.

Agree.  I counted this as "no endorsement" in my spreadsheet.

I think I was clear, when I posted, that it is a non-endorsement. In fact, as was pointed out above, they trashed both candidates in that editorial. For Trump so far though, that is as close to he came to an endorsement!

For readers of The Nation (read: Bernie supporters Smiley), they endorse Clinton:

https://www.thenation.com/article/why-progressives-should-vote-for-hillary-clinton/

The Nation is the longest continuously published weekly and defends "progressive" values and ideas. They also dismiss Stein very quickly.

i am more than surprised.

miss vanden Heuvel usually seems quite russia-friendly and even while mister trump wouldn't be an option anyway, i guessed they would not endorse anyone at all cause of hillary's neocon credentials.

The Patriot News (Harrisburg, PA) for Clinton:

http://www.pennlive.com/opinion/2016/10/for_president_the_only_choice.html

Not sure if this counts as a daily. They have a daily online edition but only publish three times weekly.

At this point only Ku Klux Klan News and Sex Bondage Weekly could seriously be considering endorsing Trump.

Please don't equate consensual sex with racist terrorism. The only way a kinkster would endorse Trump would be as part of a masochistic public humiliation scene, and even then s/he'd probably use their safe word.

The Deseret News of Salt Lake City, which has a no-endorsement policy, calls for Trump to drop out of the race: http://www.deseretnews.com/article/865664336/In-our-opinion-Donald-Trump-should-resign-his-candidacy.html.  I'm going to count this as a "Not Trump" endorsement, similar to USA Today's.

Also, the Fresno Bee endorses Clinton: http://www.fresnobee.com/opinion/editorials/article106756647.html.  They endorsed Obama in 2012.

The only people with the time to comment in local newspaper comment sections are retired white Republicans who hate Democrats more than anything else in the world.

That pretty much seals the fate of Trump in UT. Deseret News "very accurately" reflects the opinion of LDS leadership.

I have to applaud them for keeping their integrity.

Small-town newspapers are in a hard place and when the only people who subscribe to them anymore are cranky old white people, endorsing Killery is a big financial risk.

The Columbus Dispatch endorsed Hillary Shocked

The endorsement by the Dispatch (their first for a Democrat since 1916) is at http://www.dispatch.com/content/stories/editorials/2016/10/09/1-editorial-for-president-trump-unfit-clinton-is-qualified.html.

There are a ton of endorsements coming out this weekend, so I probably won't post an updated total until late in the day.

Here's a dump of the ones I've found so far today.  When I have time, I'll try to track down some of the unknown 2012 endorsements.

The Northwest Arkansas Democrat Gazette published anti-endorsements of both Clinton (http://m.nwaonline.com/news/2016/oct/09/not-for-hillary-20161009/) and Trump(http://www.nwaonline.com/news/2016/oct/09/not-for-the-donald-20161009/?opinion).  The second includes the statement "Call today's dual editorials a non-endorsement", so I'm going to count it that way.

The rest are all for Clinton:
