i think at this point, the WSJ would have quite a problem with their own editorializing if they stand with trump...maybe a non-dorsement?

NYP on the other side also bashed trump today....but i guess, with all their pro-trump columns, they could easily go for him.

The WSJ is one of a dozen remaining Top 100 papers that doesn't do endorsements, although USA Today and some others broke their tradition, so maybe they will. One of their board members did endorse Clinton.

What are they waiting for? Why so quiet in the last few days?

actually endorsements are ahead of schedule this year. Usually they wait until the final two weekends to keep it fresh in the minds of voters.  But with more early voting, some papers have started going earlier.

El Nuevo Herald has just endorsed for Congress. I guess, we should expect them endorsing for president soon: perhaps even tomorrow.

Are we still waiting for any major endorsements other than WSJ and NYPost?

These are the largest newspapers I'm aware of that haven't endorsed (cutoff point: circulations above 125,000).  An asterisk indicates that the paper usually doesn't endorse candidates.

Wall Street Journal *
NY Post
San Jose Mercury News
Newsday (Long Island)
LA Daily News
Orange County Register *
Philadelphia Inquirer
Minneapolis Star-Tribune
Newark Star-Ledger
Honolulu Star-Advertiser
Atlanta Journal-Constitution *
Las Vegas Review-Journal
Pittsburgh Tribune-Review
St. Paul Pioneer-Press *
Detroit Free Press
Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel *
Tampa Tribune
Fort Worth Star-Telegram

I wonder who are the 3 papers that endorsed Donald Trump? Don't you know Trump hates journalists as much as he hates Mexicans?

Santa Barbara News-Press
St. Joseph (MO) News-Press
Waxahatchie Daily Light

The two News-Presses, despite having the same name, are not related to each other, AFAIK.

The Santa Barbara News-Press has a checkered history; see their Wikipedia entry for details.

I see. Mostly small town papers. Not much of a noticeable impact or attention.

Not quite a US newspaper, but they do have a US edition:

The Guardian view on the US election: the time is right for a female president

I found this portion interesting: "....The tragedy of this election is that, to become president, Secretary Clinton has had to talk more radically than she actually felt; to be an effective president she may be compelled to act more conservatively than she now says she wants to do...."

Just a month ago Sheldon Adelson gave up to $25 million to a super PAC dedicated to derailing Clinton. Today, his newspaper endorses Trump. No conflict of interest to see here. Oh wait...

This is a biggie

USA Today: Don't vote for Trump.

They've never endorsed or unrecommended a candidate in their history, and broke their no endorsement policy. In the anti-endorsement, the USA Today editorial board says that Trump is "unfit for the presidency."

http://www.usatoday.com/story/opinion/2016/09/29/dont-vote-for-donald-trump-editorial-board-editorials-debates/91295020/
Indeed, read what they say about Clinton and why they couldn't endorse her.
