If Hillary Clinton somehow won Texas, would Donald Trump be screwed?

Absolutely. By then, he'd likely be down in many other competitive stars. If Texas turned Atlas Red, the only antidote for Republicans would be solidifying PA, OH, MI, WI, MN, and IA, with Florida remaining the tipping point state.

Texas is the state keeping the Republican party relevant at a presidential level. If they lose it, they're done, barring some extreme reforms from the party.

Clinton: 321 EVs
Trump: 217 EVs

Trump is completely screwed if he loses Texas. The above map is as close as I could get him to winning if Texas flips (if Texas is flipping, then AZ, CO, NM, NC, NV, and FL are all Democratic). Even if you flip VA, NC, and WI, Trump is still losing.

You would need to find a much worse word than "screwed," if that happened.

If Clinton wins Texas, the GOP is screwed big time.

If Clinton wins Texas, it's a landslide and there's no plausible way Trump wins, period.

The election would already be called for Clinton by that point, anyway.

Yes, because it would probably mean that Hillary got over 400 EVs, which in turn would probably mean Democrats easily took back the senate, and came close to taking back the house. If Texas threatens to leave the GOP, they're toast.

The better question would be if Hillary Clinton somehow won Arizona or Georgia, which is at least a slight possibility.

If Hillary Clinton carries Texas, then Arizona, Nebraska-02, Georgia, and North Carolina flip as well. I also think that Hillary piles up huge majorities in her states, while Trump wins by narrow or comfortable margins in his, contributing to a 12 plus point win by Clinton in the popular vote, or a 16 million vote margin of victory, third all time behind Nixon (1972) and Reagan (1984).

    Hillary Clinton (D)   413 Electoral Votes    54.0%
    Donald Trump (R)   121 Electoral Votes    41.5%
    Gary Johnson (L)        4 Electoral Votes*    3.9%

   * Unpledged Electors in Missouri, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Utah defect to Johnson out of protest to Trump

Not even sure if she'd win Travis County by that much. A lot of disgruntled Bernie supporters are going Stein/Johnson.

If Hillary Clinton somehow won Texas, would Donald Trump be screwed?

If Donald Trump somehow won New Hampshire, would Hillary Clinton be screwed?

YES.

If you wanted to make a point, you could've used a blue state like California or New York, not a swing state like New Hampshire.

I was visualizing a scenario in which Hillary Clinton barely wins Texas because she drove Hispanic turnout through the roof
