I am not trying to prove anything here - I'm just curious.

Personally, Dubya.

Dubya, naturally.  He has proved to be a more responsible governor than StatesRights has ever been.

Harry, I'm really disappointed.
They get it, I'm from the South and I get it. Is the old Nomenklatura in the South the one that apparently doesn't get it.
I thought you were a responsible leader for Atlasia, I always had a really good opinion of you, but apparently it is more important to defend the status quo.
Apparently is more important to maintain some sort of power sharing agreement or quid pro quo that has put in grave danger all of Atlasia twice before.

what agreement?
Doesn't Statesrights remind you the stereotypical Southerner you see in everyday life, except those don't measure up to him?

Statesrights [is] the stereotypical Southerner you see in everyday life

This may be true (or not, i dont really know i dont live there), but as far as my vote, if i would have to vote for one or the other, i would take Dubya because he is a moderate, and while being nowhere near a moderate myself, i like candidates who i believe will allows everyone's opinion's to be heard, and i would say that it happens the most with moderates.

I would have voted Dubya.

Quick question: how is Dubya any less of a 'Southerner', despite both candidates coming from Florida?

Actually I have been here (actively) since February -so, yes, I think I know something by now of you as a political figure.

My opinion of you (as a political figure) is based mainly on your actions as Governor of the Southeast the first time around.  As a result of that experience, I can't say I am all that convinced of your ability to govern responsibly.

However, if it looks as if you will win this Southeastern gubernatorial run-off, I suppose I have no choice but to give you a second chance.  You may or may not turn out to be quite as reckless and irresponsible as I perceive you now to be -though I have my doubts whether you truly have changed, and whether you will govern the Southeast like any normal governor would.

States is probably from the panhandle and Dubya's from Miami or something.

No, we both live in the Tampa Area.  Also, I was born in Mississippi and have lived in Arkansas, Louisiana and South Carolina.  Plus I've visited every other state in our Region.  I'm every bit a "Southerner" as States is, and I'm a Civil War fanatic, too!  My parents were taking me to Gettysburg for my birthday the week of 9/11 (terrorists ruined my day, too.)  We’ve visited the Vicksburg Battlefield several times when we were in MS and the Yulee Sugar Mill Reenactment is held here every year.  Even talked to the recruiter about becoming a re-enactor, but haven’t decided to join, yet.  I just don't see a point to starting a War on the forum over an issue like gay marriage, even though I’m staunchly opposed to it in real life.

I was just kidding, I'm not trying to insult your southerninity.

I was actually talking to all the people who said that States was the archetypical Southerner, not just you.

So Dubya is from Mississippi and States is from Maryland. Smiley
And Maryland is a northern state Smiley

So, States is technically a Yankee Wink

Agreed.  Maryland is certainly not a northern state, even though they've tried to convince themselves they are for a long time.

Maryland wasn't part of the confederacy and  has very differenr voting patterns than the South. I would like to hear it explained why Maryland is not northern/is the southern.

It would've been part of the CSA, but Lincoln sent in troops and busted the secession meeting up.

They are all American states so I don't see why it really matters that much.
