Regional Names

[Lincoln Republican]

It is nice to see the Western Region at times use the name Fremont.

I think it would be nice if the North Region started using the name Franklin when they could and for the South Region to start using the name Rayburn.

These names are all historically relevant to the regions and were mentioned at the Constitutional Convention.

You know, as someone who uses the name Lincoln Republican, I think your suggestion to use the name Lincoln for the North Region is an excellent idea.

Before I saw your posts, I was just about to suggest "Lincoln" for the North as well.

I think the regions should use the names they themselves decided are best for them, lest everyone just goes around using whatever names they personally like best.

It's not like the "Western Region" is just choosing to call themselves "Fremont," they literally named themselves that, while we named ourselves the "South" and you guys became the "North."

Well South and North are hardly interesting or historically significant names.

I was in favor at the Convention of having these names become official, Fremont, Rayburn and Franklin.  But I was out voted.

How about "Roosevelt" for the North? FDR and Theodore were both from New York....?
